Loibner Grüner Veltliner

Peter Veyder-Malberg has been quietly farming three plots in the storied Loibenberg vineyard site in the Wachau for some years. In vintages past, the Grüner Veltliner fruit has found its way into his Liebedich blend, but for 2017, Peter sought to make a village-typical blend from Unterloiben, and the result is an elegant, clean, and straightforward interpretation of the site. While it is predominantly known for its opulent, full-bodied wines, the Loibenberg has an austere side too, and Peter’s inimitable style brings it out perfectly.
