Furmint

First described in Hungary in 1571, Furmint has developed a niche in Burgenland, where it flourishes in the weathered slate soils. In fact, all 11 hectares of Austrian Furmint vines call this region home. While it is most widely-known for producing the famed Tokaji sweet wines, the variety shines when vinified in a dry style, showing incredible floral aromas, lithe acidity, and a touch of lemon.
